Greeting friends & associates......(clearing my throat)
*Otis' first official performance has been booked in da U.P.. Thursday, April 27th the Marquette Medley will be presented in downtown Marquette at a location to be determined in the near future.
*Singer/Songwriter Paul Tegel of Elk Rapids has been recently getting airplay on college station WNMC out of Traverse City, Mi. One of the cuts, "Do You Really Want To Know", is a Sty In The Sky production which features Otis on bass, drums, piano, organ, and backing vocals.
*2 or 3 new recordings will be available on otisbacon.com soon. Webmaster Jo'ran is in the process of getting them up even as we write.(actually it's kinda early for a college guy to be up I think) These are the first Otis recordings to come out of our new digs here in Skandia. (The Sty Near The Y)
1. Someday, Somewhere, Somehow is the first complete tune to be written here. It's a blues based ode to the workin' life.
2. I'm In No Hurry is a tune written by wannabe David Alden MacDonald some twenty years ago when he was drifting around northern Montana. After watching the Funk Brothers dvd, compliments of Morgain Bacon, I found the inspiration to produce this tune ala Motown. (more or less)
3. Whatta Ya Say was written a few years back. Topic....the big move of cohabitation by couples. Yikes! I can never sing it without thinking of my nephew Eston Bacon singing, "Whatta Ya Weigh?"
Winter finally arrived up here late this year. If you step off the beaten path in the woods it's up to the ole pork loin. Ever try to dislodge a pig from deep snow?
As soon as I have the locale of the April Marquette show, I will post it on opening page of website. Till then........big, sloopy, snout kiss.......Otis
