It's been a pivotal year. Otis' human vessel has had a rough stretch of road, health-wise. A lot of time spent on the couch.....not by choice, leads to much introspection.
A change of direction has become necessary. It's really about survival and honestly, that pig just ain't paying the bills! Oh sure, he's a lot of fun, but laughs don't keep the boat afloat at the end of the day.
I will continue to write and record here at the Sty. It's permanently ingrained and is my main source personal entertainment. I hope to still work with other musicians as fate plays its hand in the future. This is something I truly enjoy and so I am open to studio and live performing options if they should present themselves.
I wish to express my gratitude to those of you who have supported and encouraged me in these past few years. It's been a lot of fun, and should you be inspired, I hope you will continue to contribute to the Otis legacy, or whatever it is.
I think the website is worth leaving up. Jordan did a superb job in setting it up and has been great in helping me maintain it. I suppose I will add some new music here and there.
Time to get back to the real world. Be seeing you around.
Love........David Alden MacDonald

So this is what happens when you start out early in the morning? Your post has an element of finality/ resignation that in our short time of aquaintance I would call uncharacteristic. I view this as a temporary period of retrenchment with a future reincarnation of Otis somewhere in the offing.
Rest up my friend, times like these can really add fuel to the composing fire I strongly suspect still simmers inside. Pyg

What is this "real world" that everybody keeps talking about, and when does it start? They told me that when I graduated from high school I'd be out in the real world. Instead, I went to college. They told me that when I had finished college, I'd be thrust into the harsh reality of this "real world." Well, I went to three different colleges, and when I was done, I still hadn't discovered any formal reality that was previously unknown. They told me that when I settled down and got married I'd be a domesticated member of this "real world" Well, I got hitched, and guess what...not only has the honest to god real world continued to elude me, but I can't say that I've settled either. So what next? Do I have to have children to discover a reality more real than this? Do I have to buy a house? Get a dog? Work a nine to five with a pension and health insurance and all that? At what point does the real world begin and this alternate "fake" reality end? And for that matter, why do I want any part of it? Oh my throbbing head!

Hmmmmmm........Robert Leroy Descarte. I suspect it's ALL real. To add to the cauldron of confusion, it has occured to me that the older I get the less I know for sure. It's all very complicated.
By way of explanation of the final sentence by the blue writer above........I THINK he meant balance between dream realization and the demands of day to day life in our society.
Pleased to report that the pouting pig is slowly rising up out of the mud and the Sty is starting to hum a little bit now. (not a lot but a bit)
One last parting shot of the "REAL" thing. Affirmation by loved ones, be it family and, or friend, makes it ALL seem real.
Appreciate your input friend...........O-what a life

Oh what a life. It's a crazy life. My poor head in the morning. I know I'm gonna die. But Lord when I die I'm not going to die fighting.
So it's All For One and One For All I'm laying low and I'm standing tall.
