Happy birthday to me............Yep, I'm hittin' the well balanced number of 55 today. Not feeling too deep or contemplative as with some b'days, so I'll definately spare you the depressing pig caca that has eminated from this aging breakfast side plate as of late.
I recently put up a MySpaceMusic page with the help of friend and son-in-law, Josh Griffus. I'd been watching other sites there and the number of plays their music had been getting, and was finally convinced that it was a good, alter platform for the tunes to get heard.
There has been new activity in the Sty. I produced a cover of a tune that's been in my head for years that was originally released around 1981 by the Atlanta Rythmn Section. It's entitled "Alien." It's heavy with electric guitar. I've been experimenting more with harmonies that intertwine around the melody of the song from this instrument. I feel I got close to what I was hoping for in this production. The addition of the Behringer V-amp a couple of years ago has helped me get the feel and sound that I like with the electric, so equipment does matter.
I've also been doing some work with friend and future son-in-law, Blake Becker. He recently aquired a Fostex VF-160 which is an updated, newer version of the recording machine I use. This has enabled us to share our music in ways that was previously more difficult. We can swap WAV files and download them to one another's machine. This gives each of us the ability to view all the individual tracks that the other has laid down and add to, or edit the material. We got together to play one day recently and laid down some tracks on a light, probably instrumental, we're calling.....Finland Calling.
That's pretty much the sum total of life here. All is good, casual, and relaxed. That's the way I like it and if someone can please make me laugh, I'm standing ready with a guffaw. (I like that word.....first noticed it in reading The 3 Muskateers)
Peace......O-I'm gettin' my hoofs on the ground agin'
