One of the things I love about gigging is people you meet. So it was another slow night last Friday at The Shamrock and I was providing background music for the Tigers/Athletics game, which was cool. It's laid back. I'm tinkling & watching the game myself.
Next thing I know the table right in front of me fills up with some young men........as in high school age young men. That's cool. "This will be interesting.", I think. I play couple of tunes & they were really great about showing their appreciation. (what do they call that when people slap their hands together when they like something.....and why do they do that?) (us pigs vocalize appreciation) So we strike up a conversation and I learn that 3 of the guys are in a band, The Crimson Sprocket Band.
To cut to the chase, eventually talk leads to them wanting to record their first demo cd and questions as to whether I might be able to help. "Hmmmmm.......I just might.", I think for the second time that night. (think that is) Since Friday I have been in contact with them and they're into giving The Sty a whirl and I'm into giving full band production a shot.
Details are pending, but stayed tuned for updates of this exciting development.
